2022 Scholarship Beautillion

Formal attire required

History of the Beautillion

Each year high school seniors participate in a series of interactive activities focusing on the preparation of young men for college and beyond. Under the guidance of the Nu Mu Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., each senior (a Beau) share life learning experiences and take part in activities including a men’s retreat, community service, cultural excursions and enrichment workshops on topics such as Preparing for the First Year of College, Presentation Skills, Team Building, Money Matters, and Etiquette Training.

A very central part of the program is the provision of college scholarships. The Charles H. Wesley Education Foundation has facilitated the contribution of thousands of dollars in scholarships to high school seniors from across Metropolitan Atlanta.

Our gala is the culminating event in which our Beaux perform a formal rites of passage and publicly receive their scholarships. During the event, guests will be treated to dinner, refreshments, salad and dessert. Proceeds from the gala benefit participants in the DeKalb Alphas Mentoring Initiative.

Venue

Georgia Aquarium is cleaned, and all guest areas sanitized every day with hospital grade disinfectant. Our staff continues to clean high touch areas throughout operating hours as well. High contact areas of the Aquarium, such as railings, elevator buttons, etc., are covered in a copper-infused film that reduces the transmission of viruses. Additionally, setup and breakdown time in between events have been increased to ensure proper sanitation of the event space before and after the event.
In accordance with an executive order by the mayor, Georgia Aquarium is requiring our guests to wear a mask covering their nose and mouth during their visit.

We look forward to seeing you there!
