A Voteless People is a Hopeless People

Each chapter of the Southern Region of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. must engage in the Southern Region Vice President's M.E.A.N. initiative and move forward as a body. M.E.A.N. is an acronym for Mobilization, Education, Advocacy, and Navigation.

NMΛ's M.E.A.N. Plan Summary

1. Public Issues Forums

As community members, you have the power to participate in problem-identifying and problem-solving sessions. Together, we can discuss and develop plans to resolve issues such as health care, crime, and low-performing schools, among others.

2. Candidate Forums and/or Debate Watch

Engage in the political process by hosting public candidate forums and/or debate watch parties and having discussion groups after the debate.

3. Voter and Civic Education

Provide information on who is eligible to vote; where and how to register; how electors can check the voter lists to ensure they have been duly included; what type of elections are being held; where, when, and how to vote; who the candidates are; and how to file complaints.

4. Voter Registration Drives

It's crucial that we provide online and in-person voter registration opportunities. By ensuring citizens are aware of Georgia's voter registration requirements, we can all contribute to a more engaged and representative community.

5. Get Out the Vote Programs

We must get voters to the polls.

WHAT CAN I DO TO HELP?

    • ASK EVERYONE YOU CAN TO REGISTER TO VOTE, AND VOTE.

    • Get Everyone Involved!  Family & Friends, Are they registered to vote? Check with your loved ones to see if they have registered. What about your co-workers? Church members? Chapter Brothers? Let's make a difference together. Please take a second to ask them if they cannot; let them use your computer (and printer). Then, together, go to Georgia's My Voter Page. Please encourage them to share what they learned and help others by forwarding the link so they can pass it on!
